Transport

High volumes of private car use can threaten both the tranquillity of the AONB and people's enjoyment of it. To help counteract this, the Rural Transport Partnership in the area established a 'leisure time' bus service that is now principally funded by Worcestershire County Council.

The Hills Hopper bus operates throughout the AONB on weekends and bank holidays between April and October. The bus is equipped to carry bicycles and wheel chairs. As well as enabling people to enjoy the AONB without getting in the car, the service is used by many as an integral part of a recreational outing. For example, taking the bus to the southern end of the Malvern Hills and walking the length of the hills back to Malvern.
